What is 4POP?

The name “4POP” stands for “4 Pieces of Paper” that outlines the goal for students to graduate high school with four documents to help kickstart their career in digital creation with Unity:

  2. Certified User: Programmer
  3. Certified User: Artist
  4. Certified User: VR Developer

What’s Involved with 4POP?

Teacher Training and Support

Even if your teachers do not have any existing experience with programming or teaching programming, they will be prepared to facilitate Unity’s content to their students. All teacher training, course content, and supplemental resources for teachers are available at no cost through Unity’s Educator Hub. Unity also maintains several support networks that can connect your teachers to other educators around the world for help, ideas, and collaboration.

In addition to Unity’s resources, Great Lakes Reality Labs can provide additional help for teachers preparing their own curriculum/pedagogy, support them throughout the semester, and roadmap the student experience into higher education and/or their first development jobs.

Student Courses

Unity has a multitude of courses, tutorials, and projects that will prepare students for their Certified User certification and support their careers using Unity. There are also pathways that have been expertly engineered to optimize their learning experience, teaching them exactly what they need to know, when they need to know it, with a step-by-step curriculum.

Certifications

Once your students have been trained in Unity and are comfortable with their skills, it’s time to get certified! Exam site licenses, learning resources, and practice materials are offered by Certiport for use by institutions that will have multiple candidates taking certification exams at a single site. Colleges, schools, and government entities can obtain significant savings by purchasing site licenses because there is no per-test cost.
